Yikes! It has been a ridiculously long time since my last post! It's been non stop a lately and I can't post up a lot of stuff I'm working on quite yet.
However, I can post the news that I'll be contributing a short comic story towards the British Showcase Anthology (to be published by Markosia). My story will be called 'Red Apple' and there is a piece of character design above. Hope you like. A lot more posts to come soon (honest).

Hey there!! It's been a while since my last post as I've been crazily busy (thankfully). Hope a good Crimbo and New Year was had by all.
Above is a little sneak peek at 'Betty and Edith' which is my piece for Solipsistic Pop 5 to be published this Spring. Really proud to be included in this great anthology. I'll post more when I can.

Last year I was one of the winners in the Northern Sequential Art Contest. Part of the award was to get my work (The Clicking Machine) into the 2012 Thought Bubble Anthology published by Image comics. Well it's out today in all good comic shops! Go and grab yourself a copy!
UPDATE: I'm really chuffed at the response to The Clicking Machine! Thanks to all those who have appreciated it! Such as Comics Bulletin and SFX and especially Rich Johnson at BleedingCool.com who wrote:
The Clicking Machine (Martin Simpson, NSAC 18+ 2nd Prize, 1 page) The Clicking Machine is a strong contender for highlight of the anthology (another fine comic from a deserving NSAC prize-winner) with some stunning painted artwork and a story that’s more evocative in one page than many might manage in an entire issue. In one page Martin Simpson provides jaw-dropping imagery (I’m reminded of Richard Corben or Ben Templesmith, and it’s no bad thing to be compared to either of them) and a story that’s simultaneously about the perils of unfettered obsession and the irrepressible freedom of spirit that great art can inspire.
That's the kind of review you have to blog about! (Even if it does cause my head to swell a little!)

My short comic story "A Carnival for the Lost" has just been awarded by their sponsor STRIPOLIS at the 10th INTERNATIONAL COMICS FESTIVAL CONTEST! The award includes publication of the work in STRIPOLIS.
This was a lovely surprise to get and I'm really, really chuffed about it!
If your in the area there will be a 'Contest 2012 – Exhibition of Awarded Comics' held in the Happy Gallery of Student Cultural Centre, Belgrade from September 27th to October 15th, 2012.
Just glad to be a part of it all!
